By embracing the cold, I've changed how I see winter. My perspective has shifted from a time associated with hibernation to welcoming the winter by cold water swimming.

Swimming weekly has kept me in tune with the subtle shifts in temperature, a sensation not felt on land. The idea that one can feel lighter, both mentally and physically.

Exploring areas of natural beauty in the grey winter, I have documented my connection with people, our excitement to be near open bodies of water, interacting with the landscape.

As winter warms to summer, I’ve become familiar with the changes my body goes through with the seasons; noticing how the human experience mirrors the shift in the landscape, as the tides change and the trees turn green again.
